Sports psychology

Do you feel that you are struggling to achieve your full potential? Are you struggling with the mental side of your chosen sport? If this sounds like you then have you considered sports psychology?

How can sports psychology help you

Performance anxiety

Are you great in practice but then struggle when it really matters? Perhaps you don't like playing or competing in front of friends or family. It can be frustrating when performance anxiety stops you from competing at the level you know you can. Sports psychology techniques can help to reduce anxiety and help you to perform at your best. Working with a sports psychologist can increase both your enjoyment of the sport and your ability to perform.

Focus and concentration

Do you seem to get distracted easily? Maybe you struggle to perform consistently. Focus and concentration are important attributes in sport. Sports psychology techniques can help you to stay focused and in the moment.

Choking under pressure

Choking affects players and athletes in all sports and at all levels. Often it is the player that stays calm when the pressure is on that wins. Sports psychology techniques can be used to help players cope with the demands of competing even under the most intense pressure.

Confidence and self doubt

The top performers believe in themselves and their abilities. You can learn to build a sporting mindset using sports psychology. You will feel more confidence and belief in your ability.

Injuries and recovery

Sports psychology can be a great help when recovering from injury. Sometimes injury can mean that an athlete is unable to play the sport they love. If this sounds like something that you are experiencing then maybe you could use your time to work on your mindset and prepare yourself so that you can return to your sport stronger and better than ever before.

Team dynamics

Sports psychology can be used with teams to improve team dynamics and improve resilience.  Techniques can be taught to boost team morale and eradicate toxic team environments.

Skill acquisition and coaching

Are you a coach and want to improve your coaching methods? Sports psychology can help you to use the latest techniques to teach your players new skills or enable them to get rid of bad habits. Players and athletes can then bring these new skills into their matches and tournaments.

Well being and health

Are you no longer enjoying your sport or career? A chat with a sports psychologist can help to see your sport or career in a different way. They will also be able to spot the signs that you may need help with your mental health. Sports psychology can help you to enjoy your chosen sport even more!
